Web TV as a service

Your own channel.

You upload the programmes. We put them out on YouTube around the clock and see that they stay there. No control room, no engineer on shift.

Coming up

  1. Our town: a documentary
  2. Summer of culture: concert in the square
  3. News for residents

An example. The programmes are illustrative.

Three steps. The third never ends.

  1. You upload

From the browser, in your channel's panel. If the connection drops or the page is closed, the upload carries on from where it stopped.

  2. We check

Every file is checked before it enters the library. If it does not fit, you are told exactly what is wrong — for MP4 and MOV, before the upload even begins.

  3. It airs

What you upload joins the rotation by itself. The channel plays without a break, with your logo on screen.

Your panel.

One password and a browser. In Greek and in English.

  • On air

What is playing now, and how the stream is doing.

  • Coming up

The next eight programmes, with their times.

  • Library

Upload and remove. What is on air at that moment cannot be removed.

  • Logo

Drag it into place. Size, opacity and when it shows.

  • File check

Every fault at once, with the format that is wanted.

  • Stream key

YouTube is yours. You set the key, and it is never shown again.

A schematic of the panel.

For anyone with something to show.

  • Municipalities

    • Council meetings, still there to watch after they end
    • Culture, sport and events that were filmed and seen by nobody
    • News for residents, on a channel that belongs to the town
  • Universities

    • Graduations, ceremonies and conferences in a continuous run
    • Open lectures and the departments' archives
    • Students' work: films, radio, productions

And for any organisation with an archive and an audience: cultural bodies, festivals, societies.

We stay up.

  • The stream is watched

All the time, not once a day. If it drops, it is put back by itself.

  • YouTube is reopened

After an outage YouTube ends the live broadcast and waits for a person. Here a new one opens on your channel without you doing anything.

  • We know at once

A stream that dropped, a file that is missing, a schedule that ran dry: we are told the moment it happens.

  • A copy every day

Your channel's schedule and settings are backed up daily.

Common questions.

Do we need our own equipment or an engineer?

No. The channel runs on our equipment and we watch over it. All you need is a browser to upload your programmes.

Whose is the YouTube channel?

Yours. The stream goes out on your own YouTube channel, which needs live streaming switched on. You set the stream key in the panel; it is kept encrypted and never shown again.

What files can we upload?

MP4 or MOV video, with H.264 picture and AAC sound, at the size we agree with you for the channel. Every file is checked before it enters the library. If it does not fit, you see every fault at once and the format that is wanted.

What happens if the stream drops?

The stream is watched all the time and is put back by itself. If YouTube ends the live broadcast after an outage, a new one opens on your channel, once you have given permission through Google a single time. We are told the moment it happens.

Can we decide what plays and when?

What you upload joins the rotation by itself, and the panel shows the next eight programmes with their times. Programmes at fixed times that you set are coming soon.

Can we show an event live?

Not yet. Today the channel plays the files you upload. Live inputs, such as a camera at an event, are coming soon.

How many people can use the panel?

The panel opens with one password per channel, from any browser, in Greek or English. Whoever has the password can upload.
